Hi, My name is Terri Fors and as you
can see by my picture, my dogs are all beloved house pets and as my motto
goes: PART OF THE FAMILY.
My wonderful husband Les and I moved from Omaha, Ne in 1995 to sunny
Glendale, Arizona.
We have no human children but have a full house. Several miniature
dachshunds, one canary, two tortoises and 2 cats! The best kids one could
ask for!
Les came from a family who didn't have a lot of pets as he was growing up
but he knew what he was getting into when we married in May 1992 and he is
having a blast with all the pets.
As a kid I trained and walked dogs for 50 cents an hour. I earned over
$100 one summer. Big money for a kid in the 60s.
My first purebred dog was a red Miniature Dachshund named Heidi. The best
friend a lonely kid like me could have. She was the smartest dog! Sadly I
only had my best friend for 6 years.
I came into the world of dogs professionally in the early 70s. I put CDs [AKC
Companion Dog obedience degree] on several breeds. Dalmatian, Papillion,
Boston Terrier, Whippets and Italian Greyhounds. I put several
Championships on Italian Greyhounds and bred them for 13 years. I showed
Whippets also for several years and any other breed I could help with in
the show ring. I also became a groomer of dogs and cats and have been one
now for over 25 years.
When I lost my last whippet and my last IG was 6 years old, I became
disabled and not able to run around the show ring anymore. I started to
look into getting some nice mini Dachshunds. Whom I have always wanted to
raise but my life of dogs took a different path.
I noted that to many Dachshunds have bad backs and the type I saw in the
show ring [not all] had bodies to long and legs to short as to having
chests that nearly, if not, drag on the floor. The fancy had gotten away
from the true German look and to me the stronger type of Dachshund. I
started looking for breeders who kept to the old fashion, Miniature
Dachshund and with careful looking I have gotten the dogs I want. I have a
list of people waiting for that certain puppy to be born or even many who
come back for a second puppy from me.
You will see Reggie, my first Mini Dachshund, on my banner. He is
retired but still a beloved pet and king dog with many more years ahead of
him.
I am a small breeder and I will be keeping it that way. You will meet my
fur kids on the other pages.
